Tigereyes! is the name of our school-home-church partnership. It is a call to join together to make life better and brighter for our school age students.

Did you know that during the day a tiger's eyesight is not so great, but at night, in the darkness, it is six times better than human sight? Amazing!

Tigereyes! reminds us when things seem dark or desperate, we can help make life a little brighter for our students, through Engagement, Encouragement and Education. Everyone needs to feel that someone is in their corner and pulling from them.  This is why we join with schools and homes to be a positive, uplifting presence to our kids.

For more information about being a part of Tigereyes!, you can email Pat Sturges.

Pat Sturges tells us a little bit more about what Tigereyes! is and why you should be a part of it!

Thank you for signing up to mentor a student at either Horace Mann or Whittier High School.  If you click on the 'SayYes' logo, you will find the forms required by the school district that are needed in order to begin mentoring. A background check is part of this requirement. Becuase you are a volunteer with TigerEyes!, the school district will pay for this.

Please complete these forms and return them to me as soon as possible. I will give them to the school social worker. She will contact you to arrange a meeting so the two of you can discuss a good fit for you and your student.

Next you will receive an email with a link to Safe Sanctuary Training from the Missouri Methodist Conference. This is an online training required by The United Methodist Church by all volunteers and also includes a background check. The cost for this training is $30. Payment will be made online when you register. If you have already completed the Safe Sanctuary training, please disregard this information.

There is a small printed handbook that will give you additional information before you begin mentoring. I will send in a future email.

Again, thank you for agreeing to mentor a child in the Sedalia 200 school district. Nothing replaces the human connection.
