Some of the many ministries of First Church...
Three Nails Woodshop
Our woodworking ministry meets regularly on Tuesday mornings to build props, do repairs, and help with various construction needs that we have for both of our facilities. We have a shop at our South campus equipped with a variety of machines and power tools.
Signs of our Times
We have a group that meets every Monday evening at the Celebration Center to put together signs for our church and sister congregations. These are vinyl lettered signs on vinly or metal. Great fun and work that seems like play!
Garden of Grace Greenhouse
We are blessed to have a greenhouse which we call the Garden of Grace. We take care of our Celebration Room plants and the others found throughout our buildings. We also grow plants for our flower beds at both locations and dream of taking plants to folks in the hospitals or nursing homes. Children’s classes can plant and watch seeds grow as they study lessons on sowing and reaping. Garden of Grace is a great way to get your hands “dirty” for a good cause!
Yes Today Bookstore
The YEStoday Bookstore has one goal: Get Christian resources into the hands of people. And it is working! We are presently located at the Celebration Center at 1701 W. 32nd Street. Our hours are Saturdays 4 to 7 p.m. and Sundays 8 to 11 a.m. We have a variety of books for inspirational reading, videos, music, SayYes Wear and more. Come check out what we have to offer.
Alpha: Christianity 101
For those who are new to the Christian faith, this twelve week study offers some basic instruction on what it means to be a follower of Jesus. Alpha is offered seasonally, contact the offices for the next scheduled class.
Common Grounds is a cafe serving coffee, italian sodas, and a limited food menu. There are a variety of board games and video games available to play in the shop or in our hospitality room. Please click here for a menu. If you would like to volunteer at Common Grounds Coffee Shop please contact Steve or Gwen Turner.
Nothing But Nets
Nothing But Nets is a grassroots campaign to save lives by preventing malaria, a leading killer of children in Africa. The UN Foundation has now partnered with groups like the National Basketball Association, the United Methodist Church and Sports Illustrated to bring Nothing But Nets to the American public. A $10 gift can buy a net that will save a life.

First Church Sedalia feeds over 200 children a year through the Rainbow Network. Founded in 1995, Rainbow is a Christian ministry working in rural Nicaragua with some of the poorest people in the world. They focus on four areas (healthcare, education, housing, and micro-loans) to help carry out God's promise to God's children who live in desperate poverty.

This is a group of women whose primary focus is on missions, locally, regionally, nationally and globally. It is exciting to be in touch with what God is doing around the world to reach people of all cultures.
Imaginating Studio for Creativity
This is a new ministry space for our Care Ministries and other groups who like to express their creativity with their hands and their hearts.
